How many inpatient beds are there at Buckingham Hospital?

Up to 16, determined by the dependency of the patients at the time.

Do Buckingham residents have priority when it comes to bed allocation?

The hospital is an NHS facility and is available to patients from the Bucks Healthcare Trust area.  However,  every effort is made to accommodate local patients, who usually account for about 75% occupancy.

What are the visiting hours at Buckingham Hospital?

Visiting times and policy vary slightly from ward to ward and so to ensure you have the right information please check against the ward you are visiting. Phone 01280 813243.

What outpatient clinics are provided through the hospital?

Currently 30. They do change from time to time and a full list of each service can be found in the Services section.

How can I arrange an outpatient appointment at Buckingham Hospital?

You would normally be referred by your GP.  Best to ask specifically to be seen at Buckingham, otherwise you may find yourself referred elsewhere.

Can I get to Buckingham Hospital by bus?

Most town and longer distance bus services stop at the old cattle market, adjacent to the hospital gates.

Is there car parking at Buckingham Hospital and how much does it cost to park?

There is parking available, which can be busy at times but it is free.

Is there an Accident and Emergency department or Minor Injuries Unit at Buckingham Hospital?

No. The nearest A&E  is at Milton Keynes Hospital.

How do I contact an Out of Hours service, at times when my GP surgery is closed?

In case of life threatening emergency, dial 999.  For non-emergencies, dial 111.

How do I find details of weekend and evening duty pharmacists?

Details of late opening pharmacies and their opening hours can be found on the Late Night Chemists website.

In addition Tesco Buckingham operate a Pharmacy until 10:30pm weekdays, 10pm on Sat & 4pm on Sunday.
